The Brush Bar
The Brush Bar was our life for a little over a year and a half. We had went to a different painting studio one night, and loved the idea. We had a blast and new others would too once we put our spin on the idea. With the help of my amazing girlfriend, we designed the layout and made the whole place awesome. We had themed painting nights, sold all different types of wine, beers and sodas.
We were the only painting studio in the area that did a true Neon night. We years experience in electrical and engineering, there was no limit to the lighting. And I wired an awesome video monitor system with animated menu screens over the bar. However the plaza we were in was NOT the right fit for us. Add that with the fact that a Painting with a Twist had moved in down the street… we couldn’t survive. Classic case of a corporate company coming in and taking out the little guy. But it was a great learning experience. I did everything from apply for permits and licenses. Set up accounts with wine, beer and beverage distributors. We did classes in house and traveled for mobile events…. You could over food from the pizza place right down the plaza. We did it all, and it was great.
